In the Teton National Park

So today is Memorial Day, the day of prayer for the victims of the US Civil War. After sobering up, a small hangover breakfast and refueling, we drive yesterday's route back to the park. In Yellowstone you can see a single bighorn sheep, elk and the omnipresent bison, otherwise the animals are rather rare today. Even the detour through the Hayden Valley cannot change that.

We continue along Yellowstone Lake to Old Faithfull. We want to see the colorful Morning Glory Pool that we have missed so far. The hike there and back takes a good hour and passes many other geysers in the Upper Geyser Basin. We are once again enjoying the most beautiful weather around 25 degrees. Then we wistfully leave Yellowstone National Park through its southern entrance. The pass road is lined with heavy snow. This leads us directly into the Rockefeller Memorial Parkway and then into the Teton National Park. The road leads along the well-known Snake River, the course of which we have already crossed several times.

We set up camp on the great Jackson Lake near Colter Bay Village. We grill our steaks on the fire, with fried potatoes. After washing the dishes, we march along the lakeshore and take some pictures of the Teton Range in a sunset mood. After writing the diary, we go to bed.
