- Milkshake in Rasberry Town
- Drive to Jackson, Wyoming
- Visit to the Wild West saloon Cowboy Bar
We use the hotel's breakfast buffet before we start our long drive north. Soon we are leaving the metropolitan area around Salt Lake City and entering a sparsely populated area. The first highlight of the route is the drive through a canyon before we reach the wonderfully blue Bear Lake. We stop at a street snack and enjoy a delicious ice cream that should actually be a milkshake. In any case, the normal portion is already a full meal. The fact that the Americans before us want to super-eat them and that only after they have eaten a portion of French fries remains a mystery to us. The regional specialty seems to be the raspberry.
Now is the time to pass the steering wheel. Reto takes over and I can relax as a passenger for the first time. After a short distance through Idaho, we arrive in Wyoming. On the way we come across place names like Bern and Geneva. In the small village of Alpine we stop and take a look at the small market. From here the route leads through the Grand Canyon of the Snake River. The wild river is used by many rafting tours and is picturesquely embedded in the gorge. Soon afterwards we arrive in tourist Jackson after almost 500 kilometers. Despite it being Saturday evening, we quickly find a central motel. After a shower, we march to the lively Town Square. Here is an arch of deer antlers at every corner of the park. We dine again delicious in the chic Snake River Grill. Then we visit the nearby Cowboy Bar, where the dance floor is swung in western style and a band provides live entertainment. After a nightcap, we march to the motel.
