So this morning is all about repairing and cleaning. After a shower, I go straight to looking for a rim for the old rear tire, which will now be my new replacement tire. Unfortunately, the previous spare tire cannot be replaced because it was specially made for the car. Somehow illogical the whole thing but what the heck. During the subsequent refueling, I also have the tire pressure and oil checked before I stop at the Canadian Animal Store. On Saturdays, nobody was in the garage to fix my radio. But the helpful mechanic briefly showed me which fuse I need to replace. So I buy a replacement and the radio actually works again. Great, the long stretches without listening to music are a bit boring. Now the worst of the dirt left by the Dempster Highway is washed off the car. Finally, I buy the most essential groceries in the SuperStore before I finally leave at around 2 p.m.
On the Alaska Highway I drive in a south-easterly direction. I drive via Teslin and Rancheria to Big Creek Campground. On the way it always rains a bit. These showers create some wonderful rainbows.
At the campground I make a fire and cook on it, clean out the car and clean up the constant mess. I hope that the clouds will move a little and that there will be a clear night. After all, it should currently be possible to see the northern lights. Let's see if I'm lucky in this regard as well.
