Fremont Street - the original Las Vegas

  • Experience Las Vegas Boulevard on foot
  • Visit to several shopping centers on the strip
  • By bus to Fremont Street

We don't miss the included breakfast and are pleasantly surprised. After a Skype call with Remo and Niki's parents, we set off. That is quite a march in itself, the distances here in Vegas are quickly underestimated. After we were traveling south yesterday evening, this time we march in the opposite direction. Shops, malls, hotels, bars, restaurants and above all casinos are teeming with it.

We spend a lot of time in the countless shops in the pompous, Roman-inspired Forum Shops and the Fashion Show Mall in particular. To strengthen ourselves after all the kilometers on foot, we buy a delicious smoothie. In any case, it takes longer than planned and so we don't get back to the hotel until the early evening. Here we take a shower before we start again.

At the famous Bellagio Resort we watch the bombastic water feature, a real spectacle. Then we take the bus out to downtown Las Vegas. The old town center is now in the shadow of the overpowering casino-hotel complexes on the Strip, but it has its very own charm. Unfortunately, the drive in the city's traffic chaos takes quite a while.

Fremont Street is spanned by a huge LED ceiling that is in no way inferior to the attractions on the Strip. We dine in a typical American bistro before we take a look at the area. Here, too, it is teeming with casinos and all of them are wonderfully labeled with the classic blinking neon signs. If you like, you can zipline over the alley and the crowd over it.

We'll take a taxi back to the strip. At an advanced hour it is much quieter here than the day before. After all, it is also the beginning of the week. So we will soon be on our way back to the hotel.
