Sleeping in is the first priority this morning after it got pretty late yesterday. Then I have to make a few Skype calls home with my parents and grandparents. When we finally get up, we go the usual route to the Strip. On the way we buy a small breakfast. Again the way leads us to the Fashion Show Mall, where a live fashion show can be admired every weekend. After all, Niki is still looking for her dream Nike shoes. There are also a lot of other buildings to marvel at. From the replica of the Roman Trevi Fountain, to the tropical garden including the volcano of the Mirage, the pirate bay of the Treasure Islands or the waterfall of the luxurious Wynn. The Venetians shopping center can even be explored with a real gondola ride including a singing Venetian gondolier.
After the usual return to the hotel and freshening up, the Mirage's all-you-can-eat-and-drink buffet awaits us. The choice of food is really huge, the wine and beer excellent and the final dessert a stunner. The feast and ambience pretty much devalue the whole thing. In any case, we both really had our stomachs full. Outside in front of the hotel we immediately witness the volcanic eruption, which is excellently staged with water fountains, light and sound effects. We march briskly to the MGM, where we have secured a ticket for the popular show by the magician David Copperfield. The show mixes a number of classic magic tricks with new ideas. Among other things, a picture or an alien that is sent back to his family suddenly appears in the case of sent emails. Visitors are also included again and again.
