Day 1 in San Francisco

  • Drive to downtown San Francisco
  • See the Golden Gate Bridge up close
  • Find a motel
  • Stroll along Fisherman's Wharf
  • Pay a visit to sea lions at Pier 39
  • Taxi ride with Uber

The well-announced breakfast cannot live up to expectations by far. We continue towards downtown San Franciscowhich is now not too far away. We wrote down a few motel addresses that we want to address. Because it has turned out to be quite difficult to find an affordable hotel with parking in a reasonably practical location in San Francisco. Since in the area of the Presidio parks There's a lot of construction going on at the moment, we unintentionally end up at the Golden Gate Parking. We don't want to miss this opportunity in clear weather, after all, the bridge is often overcast even when the weather is otherwise nice. We march on the impressive structure in the midst of numerous other tourists and cyclists Golden Gate Bridge. The exposed location together with the contrasting red is truly an eye-catcher.

Back in town, after some searching, we find a motel that meets our expectations. There we move into the room and park our car. Then you walk in the direction Fisherman's Wharf. The lively tourist center at the old port of the metropolis really invites you to linger. There are cozy restaurants, bars and shops everywhere that are rarely found in North America. Here you can find the familiar Pier 39which a group of sea lions call their home. The stomach growls and we eat a delicious filled backed potato. Then we drink a Californian red wine, first with the terrific taxi app Over (Register here!) Goes back to the motel for free. We watch a movie there before going to bed.
