- Full day boat trip with Claudio's sailing ship
- Wonderful view of Rio de Janeiro from the bay
- Spend the afternoon by the water with snacks, beer and wine
Once again Claudio and Lucy are waiting for us with a surprise. You want to go sailing with a German couple our age today and we are cordially invited. Of course we can't miss that. With enough beer and wine in the cool box, we take a taxi to the port of Botafogo, where Claudios is Sailing ship is at anchor. Fabian and Lena, two Germans who are doing a language stay in Rio, will soon arrive there.
We hoist the sails and head out into the gently rocking, busy and probably not too clean inlet. Goal is one wonderful little bay opposite Rio at Niteroi, in the afternoon more and more of them come Sun finally, after that was rarely the case in the last two days. The view of Sugar Loaf, Corcovado and the entire city is wonderful and the deeper the sun sinks, the more beautiful it gets. Food and drinks are served at anchor and the feast can begin. Soon one of Claudio's colleagues will join them and we will spend an entertaining afternoon.
When the sun sets spectacularly on the horizon and our supplies are exhausted, we slowly make our way back. I can even get behind the wheel and get a brief introduction to sailing. We return one more lap before we are back in port. Unfortunately, there is currently no dock worker on site to get us off the board. It takes a while until we finally get ashore. We say goodbye to Lena and Fabian and take the bus back to Leme. Niki and I go out to eat some delicious pieces of pizza before we go to sleep, totally exhausted.
