- Drive together with Sabrina and Gilson to the wonderful Laranjeira Beach near Paraty and enjoy the day there
The neo-Australians Martin and Jemma are going on their sailing trip today and Niki and I are invited to go swimming with Sabrina and Gilson. We're heading towards Trinidade, a popular destination. After half an hour we reach the entrance gate to the condominio. Already here we notice the strict security precautions, which lead us to suspect that this is the residential area of the rich. A wonderful path leads down through dense tropical rainforest to the Laranjeira beach. A handful of mansions belonging to the super-rich are in a splendid location, and security patrols around them. Truly a wonderful place to unwind. Despite today's Friday, the hype is limited here. It is also noticeable that practically only fair-skinned Brazilians can be seen here. Another sign of how great the contrasts are in Brazil.
The water is crystal clear, the sand extremely fine, the surf only weak and the Shallow bay framed by rainforest invites you to a refreshing bath. We read, sunbathe and feed ourselves with delicacies we brought with us. The longer, the more the cloud cover thickens and the forecast thunderstorm occurs. And how! A real Tropical thunderstormswhich really soaked us on the way back to the car. Which is a welcome cooling off at these temperatures. We spend the rest of the afternoon back in our room reading and doing internet research.
Since it is still raining in the evening and - given the long way to the center - nobody really feels like going out, we decide Pizzas to order. The six of us talk for a long time before we all go to bed.
