- With the local bus to Mariana
- Tour through the pretty colonial city
- Return to Ouro Preto
In a nearby cafe we start with one Acai cups and fruit juice in the day. The Brazilian fruit is said to have many healthy properties. Then we march to the bus stop and take the local bus into the Neighboring town of Mariana to drive. Mariana is also characterized by its colonial buildings, which are typical of the as Barroco Mineiro designated style. We march through the old town and see them Catedral Basílica Nossa Senhora da Assunção whose interior is lavishly decorated.
We stop for lunch in a nice cafe. With recurring rain showers, we march up the slope to Igreja de São Pedro dos Clérigos. There we meet a German-speaking Brazilian and a girl who play chess. We chat for a long time with the two of them and are even allowed to climb the church tower and look out over the city. I'll play another round chess with the man who keeps picking up the Cachaca bottle.
Then we go on Way back to Ouro Preto. Alternatively, a restored steam engine would run, but the bus is simply more practical and much cheaper for our purposes. That's where we find the nice thing O Sótão restaurant with a traditional buffet as well as pizzas and delicious pancakes.
Back in the room we plan the next few days, when we want to sleep, a wild street party begins. The local football club Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte is just the second time in a row master become. You can't sleep under the noise of car horns and all sorts of bangers. And when it gradually becomes quiet on the street, things continue seamlessly in the student dormitory.
