Bus trip to Tiradentes

  • Cumbersome onward journey by bus via Belo Horizonte to Tiradentes

Another day of departure is due. We shower and pack our things. So we are ready for breakfast at 8 o'clock. The cafes and restaurants, however, less so. Only one is open at the moment. There we drink coffee and orange juice before we meet with one Taxi to the bus station bring it.

At 10 a.m. our bus goes back to Passaego Verde Belo Horizontewhere we arrive on time. The modern metropolis has now risen to become the third largest in Brazil. Thanks to yesterday's tip from a local, we bought our bus tickets quickly this time and wait until our next trip is due at 1.30 p.m. With the bus company Viação Sandra we continue to in three and a half hours Sao Joao del Rei, from where it is only a short distance to after Tiradentes is. We spend the trip updating the diary and reading on our Kindle. The connection between the two colonial cities of Minas Gerais, which are well worth seeing, is really anything but tourist-friendly and time-consuming.

Finally arrived in Tiradentes, we march heavily laden to the Pouso da Josi. The friendly pousada owner doesn't speak a word of English, but somehow you can manage it. Then we march towards the center, where we have something to eat. There are also many shops selling local delicacies here.
