Sweet idleness in Punta Arenas

  • Sleep in and relax
  • Browse souvenir stands at the Plaza das Armas
  • Food tour of Punta Arenas

For once, a kind of rest day and idleness is on the program today. Well, not entirely voluntarily, but there was no bus to El Calafate available for today and there isn't too much going on in Punta Arenas on Sundays. But not too bad, after all, we both got a little behind with the blog and can use the time well in other ways.

After this Sleep in and a hearty breakfast, we read and research the next travel destinations on the internet. After that, will Tidied up the numerous pictures of the last few days and everything backed up properly again.

Only shortly after 5 a.m. the stomach growls and we march the short distance to the central one Plaza Munoz Gamares. We browse the few souvenir stands that are open and watch the goings-on at the Ferdinand Magallan statue. Legend has it that you come back to Punta Arenas when you touch the foot of the seated Indian.

We have a delicious meal at a Thai restaurant and have a drink next door. On the way back to the hotel we stop at a cafe where we treat ourselves to a tiramisu and tea. Back in the room we watch a movie again after a long time.
