Onward journey to Sucre

  • Three-hour drive to the colonial pearl of Sucre
  • Evening meeting with Jemma and Martin

Sleep in again to let your body adjust to the breathtaking height of Potosis. We use the rainy and cool morning to update our blogs. We take a taxi to the modern bus station in the mining town. As in a market square, women shout the next connections of their bus company loudly into the building.

Again the bus does not have a toilet, luckily this time it is only a three-hour drive down to Sucre. Otherwise, the buses in Bolivia cannot be compared with those in neighboring countries. Nothing of the modern two-story with a comfortable seat, air conditioning, TV, etc. but it turns out to be better than expected. On the well-developed road, proceed according to plan and reach the white colonial city of Sucre. This time we will not be unloaded at a bus station, but only at the office of the bus company and look for a taxi.

We spend the night in a wonderful colonial building Casa Solariega Hostal B&B for an inexpensive CHF 22 in a double room with private bathroom. And that although Sucre is considered expensive by Bolivian standards ?! A little later we already have one Appointment with Jemma and Martin. After we met the two of them in Paraty, Brazil, and met them by chance in Torres del Paine, we stayed in contact. After all, we both have roughly the same travel plans and destinations. Of course, we have a lot to talk about and eat delicious food in a nearby restaurant.
