First snorkeling in the beautiful Finch Bay

  • Snorkel and swim near Puerto Ayora
  • Admire numerous representatives of the native fauna

After our island exploration tour yesterday, we take it easy today. We rent us snorkeling equipment and take the water taxi over to Finch Bay. A pretty sandy beach is waiting there.

It is high tide, which is why the view is too cloudy for snorkeling. So we play a game chess, have a swim and enjoy the cloudy, but still hot weather. Boobies, pelicans and frigate birds circling in the sky and pouncing on fish. While on the beach every now and then a Marine iguana and slowly marched past the bathers.

When the tide slowly recedes and reveals the hidden rocks in the bay, we start a second attempt. And this time it is Visibility in calmer water is much better. Numerous colored fish of different sizes can be seen. Another snorkeler saw a ray, I see twice an eel disguised as a sea serpent.

Again with the water taxi we go back. We shower in the hotel and then we pack our things for the tour that starts tomorrow.

There's dinner for me delicious tuna in teriyaki sauce with sesame seeds.
