This morning she's waiting longest boat trip the tour on us. And it really has it pretty in itself, Not only do I catch the unpadded front row, the rough sea also throws us back and forth today. Again and again the bow of the motor boat hits hard on the water and smashes us into our seats. Nevertheless, according to Marco, the conditions are not nearly as bad as in the dry season. We pass a few more Kuna settlements on exposed islands and then drive again along more exposed sections of the coast until we are finally surrounded by dozens of uninhabited islands with a sandy beach and coconut trees. A real Caribbean dream, even more beautiful than we expected!
We dock at one of these Robinson Crusoe islands and the exhausting crossing is instantly forgotten. In true picture-perfect weather we take some souvenir photos. Then of course we plunge into the crystal clear water. The extremely gently sloping island is surrounded by remains of coral, which makes wading out to the reef quite difficult. The hardship is definitely worth it! The wonderful corals and sea anemones in a blaze of color like I've never seen before. Fish can be seen, but not in huge numbers. I get one for that purple colored squid and numerous large starfish to face.
When the second, less motorized boat arrives, the simple but delicious meal with fried perch is waiting for us. The Kuna brought chilled drinks with them.
It is waiting another short boot trip on us before we get to the next picture book island invest. Here are some simple huts full of hammocks where we will spend our night. A Kuna family lives next door, our hosts. We have the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Swimming, snorkeling, playing volleyball The rest of the day's program is on the beach and drinking.
Unfortunately, snorkeling does not turn out to be particularly productive. Just one Stingrays I discover shallow water as well as one Hermit Crab and some smaller fish.
The kuna hold one small sea turtle as a pet in an unreasonable plastic basin. I doubt whether the animal - if larger - will actually be released. Much more, the pet is likely to end up in the saucepan. A real feast awaits our hungry mouths: Lobster and Octopus. For dessert, Sammy's birthday cake awaits, which she serves very stylishly. There is also beer, wine, aguardiente and of course rum! Bastante Ron
At the light-giving campfire - it's hot even at night anyway - and under the starry sky we spend a night absolutely unforgettable evening with all the other 28 tour participants, many of whom will wake up tomorrow with a heavy head!
