Lewis Jeans USD 39.90: Shopping in Portland

  • Sleep in and wash
  • Mount St. Helens falls into the water
  • Continue to Portland
  • Visit to another outlet center
  • Continue to Boardman until late at night

Niki has not yet got used to sleeping in the roof tent, so today we sleep in properly. Well, not too tragic in this rainy weather. We wash and have to wait a while for the tumbler to dry everything. Actually, we want to make a detour to Mount St. Helens today, but in the continuous rain it is moderate fun and makes sense.

After consulting the weather forecast, we decide to continue driving south on Freeway No. 5. Around 6 p.m. we reach the greater Portland area and turn inland into the Columbia River Gorge. The weather is still not inviting for sightseeing and so we end up in a premium outlet store again. Here Niki can find her dream Lewis Jeans for USD 39.90. A real bargain for Swiss standards! It is particularly noticeable how the fashion manufacturers lure with massive discounts when buying several articles in order to sell several of their articles at the same time. It is already getting dark when we leave the outlet stores and drive on through the Columbia Gorge Area. Here, too, we decide to continue driving and visit the area at the end of our trip. We continue through the night towards the east, always towards Yellowstone National Park. So tomorrow we will have a long day of driving to get as close as possible to the park. Around 11 a.m. we arrive at the dry Boardman, where we find an RV park to spend the night.
