Day trip with Jemma and Martin to the Torres del Paine

  • Drive to Cerro Castillo and the eastern border of the Torres del Paine National Park with great views
  • Spotted many guanacos, rheas and another condor
  • Stops at the Laguna Azul, the Cascada Paine and the greenish Laguna Amarga
  • Enjoy Friday beer and barbecue feast in Puerto Natales

After a little rest, the famous biscuit breakfast at El Sendero is waiting for us. Then we pick up our clothes Laundromat and meet Martin and Jemma at the supermarket. They only got a bus to El Calafate tomorrow and we have the rental car to use for another day. With lunch in our luggage we drive north. We drive over on Routa 9 Cerro Castillo to the east area of the park. Since our CHF 25 entry tickets expired after three days, we want to avoid paying again and only use the freely accessible outskirts of the park move.

After just under two hours of driving further Splendid weather the imposing Torres come into view. In this area you will find yourself as on our first visit numerous herds of guanacos. On the dusty slope we drive up to the magnificent green one Laguna Azulwhich lives up to its name. Guanacos can be seen everywhere, sometimes they lie calmly on the street and take a dust bath. So be careful when driving. We see one twice in the sky condor circle.
