The long drive to Puerto Madryn continues

  • Bus ride along the Atlantic coast to Comodoro Rivadavia
  • Waiting for the connection to Puerto Madryn
  • Organize rental cars for the next four days

We arrive sleepy at 7.30 a.m. Comodoro Rivadavia at. One of the largest cities on the Argentine Atlantic coast is considered the Oil capital of the country.

In the uninviting building we are now waiting for our next bus and that takes four hours. You can dream of the cozy coffee you have hoped for, just a simple snack bar with the bare minimums. The place itself likes hardly worth seeing for tourists offer, that's why we're just passing through.

At 11.30 a.m. ours finally begins next six hour bus ride towards Puerto Madryn. The landscape of the journey through the Patagonian Pampas resembles the previous journeys and offers the eye hardly any reference points. We use the comfortable seat to get some sleep and spend the rest of the time reading and writing a diary.

In Puerto Madryn when it arrives, it is the first time that it says “Land under”. Heavy rains have turned the streets into a single pool. Our hostel is only a few minutes' walk from the bus station, but getting through dry is out of the question. Since there is no taxi available at the moment, it's time to put on flip-flops and wade through water and mud. The simple, somewhat light-poor room is somewhat reminiscent of a prison cell, but it is clean.

On foot we march down to the sea, where the busy promenade extends along the city. We start looking for a suitable one Car rental offer for the next four days and you will find what you are looking for with the friendly Centauron rental car. Since the cheapest car class is currently not available, we will receive a free upgrade. The search for a currency exchange option is unsuccessful, so we will take advantage of the hostel's good range.
