Plan changes

  • Because of the Bolivian elections, nothing works on Sundays
  • No flights available for Sunday
  • Book another three-day jungle tour for tomorrow

We wake up at 8 a.m. and try to send some emails, which is already a real test of patience. Then we march to the market, where there is a fruit juice for breakfast. At the bakery we buy a delicious roll, the first one in what felt like an eternity. Niki has her watch strap replaced by the shoemaker and we march on to a cafe, where there is a manok roll called sonso.

Then we go to the Amaszonas office for ours Flight tickets to La Paz to buy. However, since elections queuing are on Sundays no flights available. As a result, all other flights are fully booked in the next few days and taking the bus to La Paz is also out of the question when it rains. So we weigh our options and decide after some time to think about it another jungle trip for three days to book instead of hanging out here.

At the recommendation of a colleague of Niki we decide for the tour operator Madidi Travelwhich that private serere reserve operates downstream from Rurre. Since you can only pay for the tour in cash, you then go to the bank again. Then we'll buy ours Ticket to La Paz on Tuesday and set off to find Niki's dream restaurant. Then a short drink in the Funky Monkey before going back to the hostel. There the next surprise: Our laundry is neither on site nor - when it finally arrives - dry. Instead of packing, we first have to open our clothesline and then go to sleep.
