Onward journey to the Zona Cafetera

  • Seven hour minibus trip to Armenia
  • Connection to Salento

The alarm clock rings early because another long bus trip is waiting for us Zona cafetera to us. We take a taxi to the bus station, where we get tickets for the seven hour minibus trip to Armenia to buy. At 9 o'clock it starts right away. As usual, we use the time to write a diary, sort pictures, do accounting and play reading. The ride leads down winding roads into more tropical regions.

It is better not to look out of the windshield, otherwise one can get scared and anxious with all the daring overtaking maneuvers. There are two toilet and refreshment stops, then we reach town at 4 p.m. Armenia. There we immediately switch to another mini bus, which is much older than that.

Another 45 minutes later we have reached our destination. Already the first impression of the Small town of Salento like. A cozy town with beautiful traditional buildings, well-tended alleys full of souvenir shops and a magnificent, lively plaza. After our luggage is accommodated in the pretty accommodation, we explore the alleys and eat deliciously.
