The mountain range of the Jura offers numerous motifs for wonderful Photo opportunities for nature and landscape photography. Geologically speaking, the Jura is a young one Fold Mountains about 300 km in length. It extends from France via Geneva, the eastern and Northeast Switzerland to Germany. Of Geneva about Neuchâtel along the Three Lakes Region to the Around Basel.
The Swiss Jura is diverse and worth a visit at any time of the year. Be it at the impressive rock basin of the Creux du Van, the unique moor landscape at Etang de la Gruère, Meadows full of blooming Daffodilswho have favourited stunning Cherry Blossom in the Basel area, spectacular panoramic views Towards the Alps or an autumnal view from Chasseral about the Sea of fog of the Mittelland. Rivers like that Doubs or the Areuse have dug deep, wild gorges, which promise cooling even on hot days.
Its rugged and sparsely populated landscape offers one rich flora and fauna a home. With a bit of luck, chamois, ibex, foxes, deer, vipers and even a rare lynx or wolf can be observed.
The region around Lake Neuchâtel, Lake Biel and Lake Murten make up the Seeland or Three Lakes Region. This diverse and varied landscape at the southern foot of the Jura is the largest today Vegetable growing area Switzerland. With their medieval towns and picturesque villages like Murten, Aarberg, Erlach, Ligerz there are wonderful photo subjects. The slopes have been used for growing wine for generations.
