Already Ernest Hemmingway & Winston Churchill got off the Pearl of Africa - as Uganda is also called - in raptures. Nevertheless, Uganda mostly still flies always under the radar of the typical Africa safari tourist. Under the new, stable political leadership, the country has moved on from its tragic past with the The reign of terror from the dictator Idi Amin recovered and most of the animal populations do the same. The cheerful, friendly and diverse People are happy to show the natural treasures of Uganda to the tourists.
Undoubtedly that Highlight every Uganda trip are the Mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and im lesser known Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Uganda offers with the Murchison Falls of the Nile and the Queen Elizabeth National Park two classic Safari National Parks, where - except for the rhinoceros - everyone Big Five With Elephants, Buffalo, Leopards and Lions can be observed. Then there is the remote wilderness of the Kidepo Valley National Park on the border with South Sudan, where we have two wonderful Lion male have seen.
Another highlight is a visit to our closest relative: the Chimpanzees in the rainforest of Kibale Forests. Often the scenic one that is worth seeing is wrongly left out Lake Mburo National Park with many typical safari animal species, but without lions and elephants. And last but not least, the bizarre one is waiting Shoebill to discover in the swamps of lakes such as Lake Victoria or along the Nile. Have fun with my best Uganda pictures.
